Machinist / Old Age Pensioner Her brother 'James' went and lived in Ipswich QLD. His decendants are inthe possession of a couple of original letters written from Brooklyn in NewYork, America. Georgiana had the letters which her father 'Alexander C.Anderson' wrote from California and Sydney to the his wife 'Christina' andtheir 3 children in Scotland. The small letter diary from California plus thetwo small double sided one page letters from Sydney were inherited by ElsieLillian Heinrich (nee Tucker), who then gave them to Robert Henry around 1981for safe keeping. There was also a glass photograph taken in the 1850's ofAlexander's wife Christina and their first three Scottish born children,which Alexander may have carried with him from Scotland to Sydney viaAmerica. The letters would have travelled via sailing ship from America andAustralia to Scotland and then brought to Sydney by Christina. At some stagethey came into Georgiana's possession. Her brother James ended up with the couple of short letters written by Alexander from Brooklyn, N.Y. |
